Siân is 30 and works as a graphic designer in the North of England, as you do with a degree in Philosophy and Classics. She's also a talented artist; she painted this some years ago. At the moment, though, she's more preoccupied with painting her new house than pretty pictures. Click here for some more of her artwork. Michael is 29 and claims to be only 6ft 3in tall (but we know he's taller). In 2003 he passed his degree in Computing from Bournemouth University. Then he spent a year working as a web designer for a human resources company. In June 2005 he moved to Manchester as a PHP programmer. (The photo above was taken in 2002.)

In July 1997 we moved into our flat in Shepherds Bush. Here are a few of our London friends:

Kevin (left) & Harvey, who've been together for longer than is decent, but not long enough to be indecent. (15 years at the last count!) We have no dirt about these two at all. No, really. These are the sort of people we should be introducing to our mothers, as they really are lovely. Andy and David are two East London bell ringers. We met them at the Mr Hoist 2000 Contest as Andy was one of the judges. Keen DIY'ers, they like nothing more than taking a week off work to transform another part of their house and garden. They won't do our flat, though, but we have asked.

Henk (left) and Rene are two leathermen who live and work in Amsterdam. They were our best men when we signed the London Partnerships Register on our 10th anniversary in June 2003, and again when we became Civil Partners in May 2006. Matthais and Gerard have been together since July 2001 and happily set up home together in Arnhem, the Netherlands, in 2002. We've known Matthias for the last few years that he lived in London. He chose to leave London's leather scene behind for a town with a bridge and an open air museum, and they got married on 28th March 2003. True love indeed!

Jan is a Norwegian biker friend who has decorated his flat with a Napoleonic theme. Where did we find him? On the web of course: www.blackglove.net Ulli is a professional photographer and describes himself as "the mad German"!
